PRAYERS AND PROMISES

H. C. G. MOULE, D. D., 1896
To come to Thee, and hear Thee say, ' I come,
This is our life, our strength, our spirits home.

This little book will be found to consist of two series of studies on passages of Scripture. The two are independent; only they are so far related as that every chapter of each is a Scripture study - the first series dealing with Old Testament passages, the second with words from the New. The former has to do with the believer's approaches to his Lord; the latter is mainly, though not wholly, occupied with some wonderful words of his Lord about His approaches to His people. May the heavenly Master be pleased in His mercy to make use of these simple pages to promote in some measure our communion with Him.

'As for me,' says Asaph after his great inward conflict, 'nearness to God for me is good' (Psalm 73:28).
